Choosing a physical therapist

NCS vs. general physical therapy

Every licensed physical therapist can help people improve movement and function. A board-certified NCS PT brings an additional specialty focus to neurologic conditions.

When an NCS may be useful

For complex symptoms involving balance, dizziness, walking, coordination, falls, or recovery after a neurologic injury, an NCS-trained PT can be a helpful option. Specialty expertise can be particularly relevant for stroke, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, brain injury, spinal cord injury, vestibular disorders, and concussion.
